Marianne Kavanagh

Languages: French, Spanish, Italian
Location: South West England

Marianne studied French at the University of Wales, Bangor and graduated in 1999. After having lived for some time in France, French Polynesia and Spain teaching English, she returned to Britain to train as an MFL teacher and has enjoyed teaching French at both primary and secondary schools to A level. In 2012 she gained her MA in Translation at the University of Exeter and now specialises in translating Social Sciences and Philosophy academic texts. Marianne is also a storyteller of ancient tales from around the globe, so the Translators in Schools workshops combine her passion for exploring language and her skill at helping young people to use language to express their creativity, bringing out their inner storyteller.
