Maja Konkolewska holds an MA in Translation Studies from the University of Portsmouth and is a freelance translator and Interpreter working between English and Polish across Sussex. She is a qualified teacher with QTS and experience of working in different types of schools across all ages. She has completed several professional courses including Speech and Language in the Classroom, Supporting Pupils Speaking English as an Additional Language and Joint Professional Development Framework Foundation Level Training – Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties.
From 2012 to 2014 she played an active role at the Polish Saturday School in Brighton and Hove, first as a teacher and then as the Chair of Governors, and in 2014 she completed the Translate in the City literary translation course at City University London. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. Delivering translation workshops in schools combines Maja’s passion for teaching, translating and literature.
