Amanda Pierce Collinao

Languages: Spanish
Location: South East England

Inspired as a child by fabulous teachers and regular holidays to the Canary Islands, Amanda went on to specialise in Spanish at university. A third year abroad spent teaching in Chile provided a fantastic opportunity to travel more widely in South America and also the chance to meet her future husband! After graduating Amanda completed a TEFL course and went back to Chile to live and work. Eventually returning to the UK, she taught accredited ESOL and Spanish courses for Buckinghamshire Adult Learning and very much enjoyed teaching in the FE sector alongside simultaneously working in several schools where she was a Spanish specialist responsible for Key Stage 1–Key Stage 5 pupils. A passionate linguist and educator, for the last 10 years Amanda has focused on delivering tailored primary Spanish. Translators in Schools combines her love of teaching and learning, all things Hispanic and creative MFL experiences.
